Have you ever seen something that made you wonder because it seemed not to fit?

At the start of fall we came across a bike trail “Turkey Creek Streamway”, at the beginning of the bike trail there is a park named “Turkey Creek Waterfall Park”. The waterfall was an unusual sight in the area.

I wanted to know more about the little creek, after a bit if research I found a newspaper article written 1882.
“Turkey Creek, a live, impetuous stream, meanders at will through the place seemingly priding itself on it’s independence in designating its own path…”

Turkey Creek has been involved in a few major floodings over the years. The Corps of Engineers got together and began the task of controlling the little stream. Today, the stream is controlled, a fraction of what it used to be.

This unusual creek hidden between train tracks and a street, inspired me to paint this creek.
